[Aggiornata] A rischio milioni di carte di credito collegate agli account!
Microsoft ha subito quest’oggi un attacco ai server del servizio online di Xbox LIVE, per cui gli utenti di Xbox 360 non sono in grado di effettuare il login e usufruire dei videogiochi online e del MarketPlace.
Anonymous, il team hacker noto per attacchi del genere, ha rivendicato sul suo account youtube l’accaduto, informando che milioni di utenti di carte di credito collegate agli account sonoa rischio!
Il sito ufficiale di Xbox Live ha mostrato per qualche ora un messaggio scritto evidentemente a seguito di un attacco hacker.
Il down ha avuto inizio intorno alle 03:00 ora italiana e si è protratto per diverse ore, almeno fino alle 08:00 ora italiana.
Alle 08:00 circa ora italiana sembra essere stato risolto, almeno in parte, per manifestarsi nuovamente, a singhiozzo per altre ore.
La pratica, già nota alla comunità di giocatori Sony per il down subito con Playstation Network su Playstation 3, che ebbe inizio il 17 Aprile 2011, costringendo Sony a mettere offline il 20 Aprile (leggi articolo) e indire una conferenza stampa per chiedere scusa (leggi articolo e guarda il video), e terminò quasi un mese dopo il giorno 04 Maggio 2011, vede ora gli ingegneri della società di Redmond pronti a sanare la situazione.

Il sito ufficiale riporta infatti che tutti i servizi sono in linea, compreso accesso a Xbox LIVE, tranne il MarketPlace, ovvero il negozio su cui si può accedere per acquistare videogiochi e oggetti aggiuntivi, e i salvataggi di Minecraft.

Greetings citizens of the internet and gamers around the world, we are anonymous. we direct this message to the users of the gaming community x box lIvE, but more in particular those within the community who are using various methods to access customer accounts, distributing malware to unsuspecting gamers and defecting game play for the sole purpose of cheating on public game servers. a large amount of so called hackers have been using the x box live community as a base to selfishly and illegally extract money out of dedicated customers, with younger people and children being the main target. heavily advertised software such as aim bots and wall hacks for battlefield 3 or invisibility mode for Cod, are easy ways to tempt users into downloads, subscriptions and even handing over credit card details for payment, these tools and others similar, are nothing more than malicious software. it has also been reported that users are scamming gamers by pretending to be moderators from microsoft or indipendant internet authorities, these are other ways customers are getting tricked and more than likely the person behind the account is attempting to social engineer details and sensitive information. websites advertising that they exchange free microsoft points in return for filling in endless surveys should be avoided, as we can gaurentee that you wont be awarded any points but you will be putting your x box live account at risk. this is a growing problem within the x box community, yet the microsoft executives have done nothing to solve the problem or even attempt to increase the security measures for accounts. many members of anonymous are gamers who respect the conditions of gaming and find the use of hacking online gameplay or accounts completly unethical and counterproductive, we have therefor decided to target the x box live hackers and purportraitors themselves. if you are a hacker who thinks taking over someones account during modern warfare is leet, then we will show you the reality of cyber warfare. users of x box live who are involved in scams, hacking and malware distribution will be swiftly and systematically removed from the community. online gaming is an important social platform in all cultures across the world, a form of entertainment and communication, that should be safe for everyone. modders, trolls and, noobs are not, legitimate targets.

Anonymous nega di aver realizzato l’attacco. Il video da cui è stato rivendicato l’attacco pare sia opera di un hacker che si spaccia per essere un membro di Anonymous. Microsoft ha risolto i problemi di login al servizio Xbox LIVE, ma restano quelli relativi al MarketPlace di cui alcuni territori sembrano essere ancora affetti. Consigliamo di modificare la password del vostro account e di verificare eventuali transazioni non autorizzate sulle vostre carte di credito collegate all’account Microsoft, sempre se ne avete.

Microsoft notifica che il servizio Xbox LIVE ha ancora alcuni problemi relativamente alla gestione della lista amici, anche se gli utenti possono comunque continuare a loggarsi e giocare online, per le piattaforme Xbox 360, Games for Windows, Windows 8 e Windows Phone.
