Leap Motion annuncia accordo con HP, i nuovi notebook saranno equipaggiati con la tecnologia motion sensor

Leap Motion ha inventato circa due anni fa Leap 3D, la tecnologia 3D motion control, ovvero un dispositivo che legge i gesti delle mani per interpretarli come indicatori su schermo.

Inizialmente la periferica è stata resa disponibile solo per piattaforma Apple, in seguito ha cominciato a spopolare anche tra i VIP, tra cui l’attore Tom Cruise che si è detto entusiasta a tal punto da simulare la gestura di Minority Report.

Leap 3D è un sensore di movimento progettato per gestire applicazioni e funzionalità tipiche già note con Kinect di Microsoft con una precisione 100 volte superiore. Si potrà utilizzare con la maggior parte delle applicazioni, e perché no anche videogiochi, disponibili sul mercato.

Michael Buckwald e David Holz di Leap Motion sperano di integrare la tecnologia anche sui dispositivi mobili. Il primo passo è adesso con i computer laptop, ma grazie al supporto di ARM, la tecnologia potrà presto essere fruibile su tablet, smartphone e anche autovetture.

Questa tecnologia sarà presto equipaggiata sui notebook di HP, grazie ad un accordo raggiunto tra le due società e annunciato dalla stessa Leap Motion.
