Aion® 2.5 Update Fact Sheet
Empyrean Calling™ is the Aion 2.5 update for the breathtakingly gorgeous MMORPG epic
fantasy game. New instances, quests, and graphical enhancements deliver a steady main
course of content and interface improvements. A new mentoring system helps veteran and
low-level character alike, and new pets, a new pet mood system, and new pet capabilities
expand pet utility, underlining Aion’s design commitment to provide distinctive and adorable
useful furry in-game companions.
Key Empyrean Calling Features
Graphics Updates: The new superior graphics engine option supports high-end graphics
cards. When you enable this setting, the results are startling. Lighting is brighter, and the
environment gains subtle shading and texture. The improved in-game map system offers
more interactive user information and the depictions of Atreia, zones, and other maps are
clearer and more aesthetically appealing.
New Empyrean Crucible and Drana Esoterrace Instances: The Empyrean Crucible offers a
battle arena where groups challenge 10 stages of enemies, each containing 5 successively
difficult waves. Triumphing over Drana Esoterrace deprives the Balaur of vital resources
needed for Tiamat’s Army. Enjoy new pets as part of the many possible instance rewards.
Improved Character Customization: Get noticed! Flash your cred with a title that pops out
amid the crowd. New titles are awarded daily and weekly to Daevas of note. In addition,
we’ve added new character animations and upgraded emotes. Animations include trading,
falling, crashing, running, and rolling in flight, and upgraded character emote animations
include taunt, cheer, and others. Select from new face and body type presets and new
options to change facial expression and face shape during character creation.
Increased Maximum Legion Level: Maximum Legion level has increased from 3 to 5, with
each level affording increases to maximum member caps and an expansion in the space in
a Legion’s warehouse. Purchase new Legion items, with the selection depending on Legion
level. Legion cloaks sport a retailored bold new shape, and your Legion can pick from new
emblems to decorate a Legion’s cloak. Legion ranks have also expanded from three to five.
Mentoring: Lead a group of characters at least 10 levels lower than you, and you reward
both yourself and help the lower-level characters. Mentors can obtain special daily and
weekly quest rewards.
More Adorable Pets and Pet Mood System: Adopt new pets through quests and new
instances. Interact with your pets with pet emotes to make your pet happier. Happy pets
give you gifts! Pets now have special feed bags of their own in which they can hold food,
drink, and magic items to use automatically on themselves. And no more looting drudgery
for you – pets can now loot for you automatically!
The Public Test Server (PTS) will go live on live on 12th May, allowing a sneak peak of the new 2.5 update – there will be an full 2.5 PTS client available for download and players who already have one will be able to start an incremental download from 5th May.
