La notizia circolava nell’aria già da un po’, ma è stata ora ufficializzata da Corsair che, con un comunicato, ha annunciato l’ingresso nella fase di trattative riservate (quella che prelude alla finalizzazione) per l’acquisizione di Fanatec, il marchio leader nel settore di dispositivi Sim Racing.
Corsair procederà all’acquisizione di Endor AG, azienda specializzata in sim racing e proprietaria del marchio Fanatec. CORSAIR ha raggiunto un accordo con Endor per finanziare il suo fabbisogno di liquidità a breve termine mentre entrambe le società negoziano una ristrutturazione del debito di Endor, pari a circa 70 milioni di euro, che porterà infine all’acquisizione di Endor da parte di CORSAIR.
“Fanatec è un marchio incredibile con una forte comunità e crediamo che CORSAIR sia la casa ideale per i fedeli clienti, dipendenti e partner commerciali di Fanatec”, ha dichiarato Andy Paul, CEO di Corsair. “Questa transazione risolverebbe il significativo carico di debiti dell’azienda e la posizionerebbe per la crescita e la continua espansione del portafoglio prodotti”.
A questo sentimento fa eco Endor. “Siamo molto soddisfatti di aver trovato in Corsair un investitore strategico che conosce bene il nostro mercato e vuole investire a lungo termine”, ha dichiarato Andres Ruff, CEO e Chief Restructuring Officer di Endor.
Questa acquisizione rafforza l’investimento che CORSAIR ha fatto nel settore della simulazione e significa che è in una posizione unica per fornire soluzioni di sim racing senza pari.

CORSAIR Pursuing an Acquisition of Fanatec, the Leading Brand for Sim Racing Hardware
MILPITAS, California – May 8th, 2024 – CORSAIR® (Nasdaq: CRSR) announced today that it has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire sim racing specialist Endor AG, owners of the world famous Fanatec brand. CORSAIR has reached an agreement with Endor to fund its short-term cash needs while both companies negotiate a restructuring of Endor’s approximately €70 million of debt, which will ultimately result in CORSAIR acquiring Endor.
