Le nomination per gli Emmy 2022 sono state rese note nel corso di un evento virtuale tenuto da J.B. Smoove di Curb Your Enthusiasm e Melissa Fumero di Brooklyn Nine-Nine, insieme al presidente della Television Academy Frank Scherma.
La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà il prossimo 12 settembre. Le nomination riguardano tutte le serie che hanno debuttato tra il 1° giugno 2021 e il 31 maggio 2022: pertanto, uscite più recenti come The Boys 3, The Umbrella Academy 3 o Ms. Marvel potranno rientrare tra le nomine degli Emmy 2023.
Il record per la serie con il maggior numero di nomination va alla produzione HBO (trasmessa su Sky Atlantic in Italia) Succession, con ben 25 nomine. Seguono Ted Lasso (Apple TV+) e The White Lotus (HBO) con 20 nomination ciascuna. Tra le serie più nominate troviamo inoltre Euphoria (HBO), Squid Game (rinnovata da Netflix per una seconda stagione), Stranger Things (pochi giorni fa i Duffer hanno iniziato a parlare della quinta stagione per Netflix), Inventing Anna (Netflix), Pam and Tommy (Hulu) ed Only Murders in the Building (appena rinnovata per la terza volta da Hulu) sono invece tra le serie nominate.
Tra le serie Marvel, ottimi riscontri per Moon Knight con otto candidature (di cui vi avevamo parlato bene), Loki con sei e What If…? con 3.
Nuovi record invece per Zendaya, che a soli 25 anni, diventa la produttrice donna più giovane ad essere mai stata nominata, oltre ad essere la più giovane candidata come protagonista per ben due volte. L’artista ha ottenuto quattro candidature in totale.
